Alumni Weekend Proves a Great Success
October 6, 2015
East Lansing, Mich. - Michigan State Lacrosse played host to nearly 40 returning alumni this past weekend, which coincided with Homecoming Weekend for the school. On a clear, brisk Friday night, a group of accomplished alumni suited up once again to take on the current Spartan team in a valiant effort that saw the alumni fall short 5-9. It was an great showing from previous players, and a great moment for the program to have so many different graduating classes represented on the same field. Friday was followed by Saturday morning's Alumni Tailgate - a big thanks to the alumni who arranged the tailgate before the football team took on Purdue.
The main event for the weekend was MSU Lacrosse's Fall Golf Outing at
Centennial Acres on Sunday morning. The event hosted 26 foursomes who all competed for bragging rights, and was followed by a prize raffle, along with plenty of food, drinks, and friends. There are more pictures available on our Facebook page. Thank you to Centennial Acres for putting on a flawless outing for the group!
"The entire weekend was a success thanks to the enthusiasm of our alumni. It's certainly great to be a part of the Spartan family," said head coach Cam Holding.
A huge thanks to all the alumni who participated this past weekend. It was an exciting weekend and it is great to have the support of previous years' players behind the team this year. For those who were not involved but would still like to play a part in the program, we encourage you to get in contact with the coaching staff and/or the E-Board.
