Michigan State doubles up Ducks 16-8; advance to D1 Elite Eight

#2 Senior FOS Hunter Stephens won 20 face offs vs. Oregon

Michigan State jumped out to a 4-1 lead after one quarter and led 9-3 at the half in a 16-8 first round win over Oregon in the 2018 MCLA D1 National Championship. The Spartans advanced to the Quarterfinals for the first time since 2014. 

#7 Bennett Osterink with one of his six goals vs Oregon Monday afternoon

Sophomore attack Bennett Osterink scored six goals and added an assist for seven total points to pace the Spartans. Hunter Stephens and the face off unit won 20 face offs on the day  which gave Spartans a large advantage in time of possession.  

Michigan State will face Virginia Tech in a quarterfinal match up Tuesday at 6:45 pm MDT (8:45 pm EDT). A live stream will be available at MCLA.us. The two teams met earlier this year at MCLA's Battle at the Beach in Delaware and the Spartans prevailed 8-7.
